In the automotive electrics and electronics market segment, plastics have to meet many requirements. In addition to good media resistance to all automotive media, they should also have good electrical properties. These range from insulating to slightly conductive in order to be antistatic.
High dielectric strength and a flame-retardant effect up to UL94 V-0 are also required for this market segment.
In the case of electric vehicles, low density is also a requirement in order to reduce weight and thus CO₂ emissions.
