Badamid PA612 is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic, a polycondensate of hexamethylenediamine and dodecanedioic acid. PA612 has very good chemical resistance to fuels, hydraulic fluids, greases and oils, and also has good impact strength at low temperatures, low coefficients of sliding friction and high abrasion resistance, as well as low water absorption. Advantages over PA12 are higher heat resistance (40°C higher melting point), higher flexural and tensile strength and improved elastic recovery. Due to its very good stress crack resistance, Badamid PA612 is suitable for overmoulding metal parts as well as for use as housing covers or seals in hydraulic coupling systems.
